Simon NYECK, Professor ESSEC Business School and Chaired Professor of the Savoir-Faire d'Exception Management Chair

A pioneering vision of luxury

The aim of the Savoir-Faire d'Exception Management Chair, created in 2016 in partnership with CHANEL, LVMH represented by Dom Pérignon and Van Cleef & Arpels, is to train future professionals in the sector and carry out research projects into exceptional know-how and craftsmanship, genuine vectors of French influence, that constitute the basis of France's luxury industry.

The Savoir-Faire d'Exception Management Chair has been put in place to train managers, investors, craftsmen and entrepreneurs in the unique features of this know-how, whilst also being a space for reflection, research, exchange and teaching. Each year, it will allow approximately twenty students with different profiles (sales, engineering, design) to receive training in the challenges and strategy used to develop, acquire, industrialize, transmit and internationalize this know-how and to understand the specific features of these jobs that are driven by passion in the area of management, and economic model.

Another purpose of the Chair is to develop research programmes in cooperation with its partners and key institutions such as the Château de Versailles which will associate itself with its work.

It belongs to the Centre of Excellence Luxury, Art and Culture.

Perpetuating know-how is a crucial challenge for Luxury Goods companies. The project of the Chair is precisely to use know-how to teach managers so that they can adapt to the modern era.

This site contains further information on the Chair and its content. A PDF data sheet on the Chair can be downloaded or obtained from office N123. Online applications will soon be open, to enrol please click here.
